Two screens, One user interface.
What do I mean? I’m talking about using one website, but browsing it on two devices. Have you ever gone to a website on your phone and noticed the layout wasn't any different than it would be looking at it on your computer? Then you had to use your whole hand and both fingers (by god we use our whole hand) to zoom in - smearing finger juice all over the screen to even begin to read it?
Well, I have. It sucks. And I would hate for anyone to have to go through that. Especially if you’re looking for some cool stickers.
So, Redbubble.com has a fantastic variety of stickers that allows their users to browse through EASILY, with just about ONE FINGER, and SQUINT FREE — across multiple devices! But on here I’ll just show you two. Mobile and Desktop.
The desktop user interface layout is pretty clean.
I think they do a good job of organizing their navigation. I don't have to click around a bunch to find what I want, it’s very user-friendly and fast.
I also quite enjoy that I can click the little hearts on top of the design I like. And right away I have saved that design and I can go back and look at it later if I want to keep exploring for more. It’s got a wide selection at the top to easily navigate through with the little arrow button to the side to make it even easier to navigate, and I think everything is displayed in good order. It doesn't feel busy or cramped.
The mobile user interface is also, pretty easy.
The text and buttons are all enlarged and narrowed down to fit your screen and make it easier to and navigate.
I think the layout is also spaced well, it doesn't feel cramped.
The only thing that may be a little extra is one more page to go through on navigation for mobile when trying to select your stickers type.
← Here.
Really not that big a deal though, it’s clear on what it’s for. It just helps organize/categorize, and since everything with mobile has to be reformatted to fit a smaller screen with larger text, it makes sense to have an added page for categories.
Once you click on which stickers you want again (i selected car stickers), it has almost the same look as the desktop car sticker page.
You see some of the options for more sticker categories up ←top. Which again I find helpful and maybe convenient if you’re in search of what shows up there. One thing I think they should add is an arrow to the sides for users to scroll through all those options (“trendy”, “Sports”, “Movies”)like they have on the desktop version.
The mobile site has the hearts in the top right of the listed artwork that allows you to add certain artworks to your favorites list, the same as on desktop format.
The mobile site also has a toggle button that allows users to view 2 stickers side by side (or just two items in general) or one enlarged sticker while scrolling. The toggle is in the upper right corner. (shown in images below)
Redbubble’s desktop to mobile functionality is excellent, it's smooth and very user-friendly and I have no distractions besides the site being too good to stop scrolling through. I can tell they put in some effort to make it easy to navigate and interact with. I think my favorite feature is being able to “heart” something you like so you can go back and look at your favorites anytime you want.
Overall, Redbubble gets 10/10 from me.
